Here are some free apps I wrote. They are free, but not public domain. What this
means is you can freely distribute them but only if you don't charge anything.
If you want to charge money then you must ask me first.

Convert your ORiNOCO Silver card to Gold, and enable 128-bit WEP. Download
To use it, just open a DOS box or command prompt and run the program. After a successful conversion, run the firmware updater. It has been tested on Windows 98/XP.
Sorry, I don't have time to document everything it does, but there's a huge Lucent silver to gold thread on the netstumbler forums where you can learn more.
BTW, I have a whole pile of ORiNOCO classic gold cards of various brands. I don't really mess with them anymore, so if anyone wants one for $25 + shipping, just drop me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
WARNING: THIS PROGRAM WRITES TO THE NVRAM OF YOUR CARD. WHILE IT IS UNLIKELY THAT ANY DAMAGE MAY BE DONE, THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT YOUR CARD MAY BE RENDERED UNUSABLE IF SOMETHING GOES AWRY SUCH AS YOUR SYSTEM CRASHING WHILE IT UPDATES YOUR CARD. USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK; I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF YOUR CARD IS DAMAGED BY IT.
